Immune-boosting homemade lemon ginger turmeric shot recipe for cold and flu season. It acts as an anti-inflammatory and has antioxidant properties to boost overall wellness.

WHY THIS GINGER TURMERIC and LEMON RECIPE WORKS

Ginger turmeric shots have incredible healing benefits! Ginger (gingerol) and turmeric (curcuma) contain anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties which help to reduce cold symptoms and arthritis symptoms. Lemon helps to alkaline the body’s pH levels and provides loads of vitamin c. All three of these phytochemicals are rich in antioxidants which have effects against oxidative damage that can cause illnesses, specifically cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Ginger turmeric shots are great to help prevent these illnesses [source].

Homemade wellness shots are affordable and less costly. I love a good DIY home and health remedy that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg like homemade elderberry syrup, apple cider vinegar shots, and wellness shots. This ginger turmeric shot is so simple to make using either a juicer or a blender for a fraction of the price that it costs at the store.

WHAT INGREDIENTS GOES INTO THIS RECIPE

One inch of fresh peeled ginger, 1-inch of fresh peeled turmeric, half an orange and lemon with skin and rind cut off, black pepper, and a pinch of cayenne pepper (optional and not shown) and cinnamon. Black pepper is an important ingredient which helps the body best absorb turmeric and it’s nutrients.

HOW TO MAKE GINGER TURMERIC SHOTS

This ginger turmeric shot recipe is best to make in a juicer but if you do not have one then no problem! You can make it in a high powered blender by either grating the ginger and turmeric first or adding about 2 tablespoons of water.

IN A BLENDER

Add the turmeric, ginger, lemon, orange, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and cinnamon into a high powered blender such as a Vitamix. If it is not mixing well add 2 tablespoon of water or grate the turmeric and ginger first. Using a mesh bag or nut bag, place the bag over a large bowl to strain and separate the fibers from the juice and pour the juice into the bag. Squeeze the bag tightly numerous times until all of the juice is drained into the bowl and the fibers are separated then pour into a glass and enjoy.

IN A JUICER

Add the ginger, turmeric, lemon, orange, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and cinnamon to a juicer and enjoy! Since it is highly acidic, I recommend rinsing your mouth and teeth with water after taking a ginger turmeric shot.
